This seventy-foot observatory tower was built by Catholina Lambert in 1896. Along with Lambert Castle, the structure was built reminiscent of castles in Great Britain where Lambert spent his childhood. After Lambert’s death, the tower was open to visitors throughout the 1930s and was used by the United States military as a lookout for enemy aircraft during World War II.
